The collection of questions in the book is from questions that we have faced in the process of implementation of the law, as also questions that we have ramped up as we tried dissecting the Act, the allied rules,etc. We have not kept ourselves limited to the Companies Act: we have cross referred provisions from other applicable laws, where possible, listing agreement, etc., tried deciphering provisions and offering solutions with regard to legal interpretations and on practical implementation of the Act. About The Author:-Nidhi Bothra holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce, Calcutta University and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). She is currently Executive Vice President at Vinod Kothari Consultants P. Ltd. and is on the board of companies, including Indian Securitisation Foundation. She has authored book Guide to Factoring, 2015 edition, co-authored a book, Understanding Companies Act, 2013, a Taxmann Publication and is contributor to Guide to Structured Finance, 2014 edition and Corporate Boards, Committees and Policies under Companies Act published by ICSI.She has several articles published in national and international journals, websites and e magazines on corporate laws, structured finance, asset-backed lending, housing finance,non-banking financial companies, housing finance, micro finance, Islamic finance, private equity and venture capital, alternate investment funds, carbon credits amongst others. Her papers have ranked among the top ten papers on SSRN research for months. She has been a contributor to the White Clarke Global Asset Finance Report 2013 and Micro finance Banana Skins Report for 2012 and 2013. She has contributed to the Doing Business Report published by World Bank for four years. She has been on the correspondent board of Islamic Finance News, Red Money Publications for “Securities and Securitisation.” She has been the profile of the month of January, 2012 in Asset Finance International, an international online journal focused on asset backed lending.She has lectured at ICSI, ICAI, NUJS, Calcutta University, Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce on several topics relating to corporate laws and inancial services. She is a corporate trainer and has conducted training sessions across India and internationally as well.
